PRESENTER Alison Hammond appeared on TV with James Corden wearing a dress by fashion designer Halesowen.
The popular This Morning presenter interviewed James Corden while wearing a dress designed and made by Paul Burbridge, who runs Burbo K’ture in Halesowen town centre.
Paul was thrilled to see his design on TV and even more thrilled when Alison gave him a shout out while promoting the interview – all on his birthday yesterday (Tuesday June 28).
He said: “Lovely Alison Hammond interviewed James Corden on ITV this morning wearing Burbo K’ture.
“Thank you so much Alison for supporting my little label.
“It was a birthday present to see my dress on national TV.”
Alison walked into Paul’s shop at 3 Hagley Road on Saturday June 25 and picked up some of his handmade pieces.
Paul, who turned 52 yesterday, said: “Alison lives in Solihull and is a friend of a friend so when I saw her in Halesowen (visiting relatives) I went introduce myself and she wanted to see my work.
“She bought two pieces and we talked about me doing some bespoke pieces for special occasions.
“Then I got the message on Monday that she had worn one of the dresses for her interview with James Corden.
“I’m so looking forward to working with her again.
“She loves patterns and fabrics and thinks I really understand a woman’s figure when designing.
“She yelled at me while promoting the interview and she’s very keen to help promote small independent businesses.”
He added: “I’m at the shop almost every day now as I also use it as a manufacturing studio.
“I’m on the first floor above Halfcut Barbershop, across from Natwest.”
