Thrift stores are an amazing place to find hidden gems when it comes to fashion bargains. Sometimes you can get good quality leather jackets, a gorgeous outfit, or even designer brands at unbelievably low prices.
In addition to saving money on good clothes, when you buy from thrift stores, you are helping to prevent those clothes from ending up in landfills, which is bad for the environment. So it’s definitely a victory on both fronts.
The Vintage Thrift Store on Park Street is considered one of Bristol’s best thrift stores, where shoppers often find incredible deals among these hidden gems.
Nia Dalton from our sister site 2Chill visited this thrift store and showed us the amazing clothes she found on the cheap.
“The best gems are hidden in vintage shops. And in this Bristol flea market, it looks like all the treasures are to be found!
The Vintage Thrift Store on Park Street was recommended by a 2Chill user who rated their shopping experience five stars.
Millie Reeves called it “a treasure trove for clothing lovers” and said it was her “favorite vintage store in Bristol!”
She said she always finds “some treasures inside” and “if you like second-hand shopping, it’s worth a visit”.
I didn’t need to be told twice to go shopping! So I left for Park Street.
As I walked towards the huge yellow store, I could hear the thud of upbeat music and I could see a lot of people coming in and out.
The store was spacious but stocked with hundreds of clothes, from sweatshirts and windbreakers, sets and accessories.
It was a huge lucky dive!
I scanned the rails and found a navy and red American baseball jacket – couldn’t believe it hadn’t been picked up.
Priced at £ 49 it wasn’t the cheapest, but it was in perfect condition.
“If you don’t buy it, I will!” my friend told me.
Then I came across a few Nike sweatshirts and a red one caught my eye.
There were a few small holes in the material, but I guess the wear is part of the used package!
I took both items at the checkout and left £ 84 of lighter.
Even if none of the pieces were a good deal, they were two pieces of clothing that I would have bought new – only, they no longer existed.
The Vintage Thrift Store on Park Street is full of good-value second-hand gems.
You just need to root yourself in the rails strong enough to find them!
I agree with Millie – this is the best thrift store in Bristol.
A spokesperson for The Vintage Thrift Store said 2Chill: “Our store is always very popular with students, families and regulars.
“We get two deliveries per week and aim to restock 200 new items every day.
“Our most popular sections are men’s sportswear and the reworked vintage line for women.
“We had a lot of remarkable pieces in the shop – one was a vintage Arsenal football jacket which sold for £ 150.
“Another was a Mulberry two-piece and a Harley Davidson women’s leather jacket.”
“We are different from other vintage shops in Bristol because there is something for everyone. We have a premium section which is more expensive and a thrift store section which looks like charity shopping, only better.
“We love vintage shopping because you can find items that no one else has.
“The clothes have all been worn before, and each item has a story and a story.”
