I’ve been a sucker for Target’s designer clothing collaborations since 2009, when my mom surprised me with a tulle skirt from her Rodarte line. In the years that followed, I collected affordable pieces from brands like Missoni and Jason Wu in the same place I bought school supplies. Today, the retailer’s second collection of designer dresses is officially available and could be its best high-end capsule yet.
Target’s first designer dress collection was released in May 2020 and included dresses from Cushnie, LoveShackFancy, and Lisa Marie Fernandez. This year’s iteration features a vibrant 70-piece lineup courtesy of designers Christopher John Rogers, Rixo and Alexis. Prices range from $ 40 to $ 60 and each dress is available in sizes up to 4X.
After going through the entire lookbook, I can comfortably say that there isn’t a single bad piece of clothing in the Target 2021 designer dress collection. Such a perfect launch is sure to fly off virtual shelves, you would. so better to add your favorite coins to the basket statistic. To make your life easier, I’ve rounded up some of the best options from the three featured designers.
Beyoncé wore the clothes of Alexis Barbara Isaias, who tells you everything you need to know about the Miami-based designer. She runs her eponymous brand alongside her mom and brother, and her clothes are reminiscent of a family beach vacation. The floral embroidered dress from her Target line features a stunning meadow skirt, a keyhole neckline and an intricate yet easy-to-breathe eyelet daisy pattern. The long-sleeved, mixed-flowered dress has a vaguely psychedelic look and its braided rope belt adds an extra bohemian touch. Finally, the abstract flowing sleeve pleated wrap dress looks like it was picked straight from a catwalk, but it’ll set you back under $ 50.
